    Title- Malgudi Days
    Writer- R. K. Narayan
    Publication Year- 1943
One of the most famous works by an Indian writer Malgudi Days is collection of 32 short stories. Legendary R. K. Narayan is the writer of this Indian classic. Malgudi Days is based in a fictional South Indian town of Malgudi that is situated on the banks of River Sarayu. I purchased this book on discount I received on my birthday from HBM last month.
While reading this book you will realize that all the characters in the book don’t seem fictional at all. Like Mr. Narayan has taken the characters from around you and written their stories. I lived for around 2 years in South India and this book brought back all my memories from there. Mr. Narayan has mixed normal drama with brilliant comic effects in these stories.
A very famous television series was based on some of the stories from this book and was broadcasted in 1986 on Doordarshan. The series is still considered one of the best series of all time in India. I have vivid memories of the series when they were repeat telecasted.
This is a must have book for any book lover. If I want someone to start reading I would pick this book and give it to them without even thinking.

Malgudi Days. We all have watched the tv series when we were kids but what about the book? Malgudi Days by R.K. Narayan is a book consisting 32 short stories all are set in a village named Malgudi. The stories are usually based on the citizens of Malgudi and their day to day lives. Stories like “Attila” and “Father’s Help” are really great reads.
